Description

Hollin Bank Barn is a new addition to our small family run cottages letting business. We can now offer accommodation for up to six people in three bedrooms. Dogs are welcome.

It is beautifully situated in an elevated south facing sunny location with stunning views down the full length of Coniston Water and the Old Man of Coniston (2,635 ft, 803 meters) on one side and Grizedale Forest on the other. A truly enviable vista.

There are a number of high level walks in the area some of which may test even the fittest walker. For the less energetic there are many lower level walks. Tarn Hows, a local beauty spot, is only a 20-30 minute walk across the road opposite The Barn and into the National Trust woods. If visitor attractions is what you enjoy there is a lot of choice within easy travelling distance. The iconic Bluebird is now on display in the Ruskin Museum in Coniston.

Grizedale Forest is a mecca for cyclists with many miles of forest tracks to explore. You would need to take care not to get lost. There is a lockable storage area for bicycles.

The lake is no more than a 15 minute walk from The Barn if you just like messing about on the water.

Coniston is about a mile and a half from The Barn where there are a good selection of shops. All the pubs serve excellent bar food. The Black Bull is the home of the award winning Bluebird Bitter which is brewed on the premises.

If you need to recharge your car we recommend Booths, a small regional supermarket next to the train station in Windermere. If you need to recharge your electric vehicle there are plenty of recharging bays.

This is one of the most desirable self catering properties in the area and we are confident that you will enjoy your stay if you decide to book.

You will find a booking form on our web site – Hollin Bank Barn page.
