This charming Grade II listed cottage is situated in the heart of Ambleside where there are a good selection of shops, pubs, places to eat and even a cinema.
It is small, comfortable and cosy and has a lovely ambiance. We receive many favourable comments from satisfied visitors.
As you will see from the internal photographs there are a wealth of exposed beams and other period features which add to its charm. There is also a small sunny enclosed garden and sitting out area complete with Bistro set at the back of the cottage.
There are a good selection of low level walks from the door. Rydal and Grasmere are both within walking distance and Coniston Water is only a short drive from Ambleside.
Other lakes, although a little further afield, are easily accessible by car or bus. The main bus stop in Ambleside is about 100 meters from the cottage. If you’re looking for a challenge Fairfield, one of the best high level walks in the Lake District, starts and finishes in Ambleside. It will take you most of the day and leave some of you feeling pretty exhausted – but mentally recharged.
Get your maps out and plan your walks and outings to suit your abilities, ambitions and interests. You have a lot of choice. At the end of the day you can relax in the garden with something to refresh you.
The cottage is centrally heated – by gas.
Sitting room / diner with open fire, two small leather sofas, TV / DVD and Broadband / WiFi.
Front bedroom with double bed.
Back bedroom with two single beds.
Fitted modern kitchen (cooking by electricity) with microwave and small fitted dish washer.

A permit to park in Compston Street at the back of the cottage is provided. This only applies to Compston Street – nowhere else. Parking in Church Street is permitted but restricted between 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. If you park in Church Street (or most other places in Ambleside) during the restricted period you will need to display a parking disc set at the time of parking.
