Description

This charming Grade II listed cottage is situated in the heart of Ambleside where there are a good selection of shops, pubs, places to eat and even a cinema.

6 Church Street Exterior

It is small, comfortable and cosy and has a lovely ambiance. We receive many favourable comments from satisfied visitors.

As you will see from the internal photographs there are a wealth of exposed beams and other period features which add to its charm. There is also a small sunny enclosed garden and sitting out area complete with Bistro set at the back of the cottage.

There are a good selection of low level walks from the door. Rydal and Grasmere are both within walking distance and Coniston Water is only a short drive from Ambleside.

Other lakes, although a little further afield, are easily accessible by car or bus. The main bus stop in Ambleside is about 100 meters from the cottage. If you’re looking for a challenge Fairfield, one of the best high level walks in the Lake District, starts and finishes in Ambleside. It will take you most of the day and leave some of you feeling pretty exhausted – but mentally recharged.

Get your maps out and plan your walks and outings to suit your abilities, ambitions and interests. You have a lot of choice. At the end of the day you can relax in the garden with something to refresh you.

We do provide a residents parking permit to guests which allows parking in Compston Street behind the cottage. The permit must be displayed on the dash board at all times and left in the cottage upon departure – it is on a first come first serve basis.
